WhatsApp Edit Message feature announced! Say goodbye to typos as edit button is here on WhatsApp

WhatsApp Edit Message feature – Mark Zuckerberg announced some good news for WhatsApp users in a recent Facebook post: the option to amend your outgoing messages within a 15-minute window. Whether it’s a pesky typo or a change of heart, this new tool allows you to make changes to your discussions. This feature is already being rolled out globally and will be available to all users in the next weeks.

WhatsApp Edit Message feature

“You can now edit your WhatsApp messages up to 15 minutes after they’re sent!” Zuckerberg said on Facebook. Finally, users will be able to amend embarrassing autocorrect mistakes or provide much-needed context to their interactions.

How can you tell whether a WhatsApp message has been edited?

When you modify a message, it will be clearly labelled as “edited” so the receiver knows you’ve made a change without disclosing the complete edit history. The edited label is located next to the time stamp. And don’t worry about privacy—the end-to-end encryption that protects your personal communications, media, and calls stays intact.

WhatsApp has recently been embroiled in a controversy over suspicions of microphone usage, even while users are sleeping. The charges drew the attention of significant persons such as Elon Musk and Indian IT Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar.

So, does WhatsApp listen in on your bedroom conversations? According to WhatsApp’s official response, the answer is a resounding no. The Meta-owned firm claims that the problem was caused by a Pixel phone running the software, rather than by any purposeful steps by WhatsApp. In a tweet addressing the issue, WhatsApp suggests that the issue is with the dashboard, which incorrectly allocates microphone usage to the chat app.
