SHRM India is pleased to announce the launch of a transformative project launched by SAIL (Steel Authority of India) to cultivate and celebrate the genius of women leaders across functions and locations. The programme is appropriately named Aanya, which means “Generous and Limitless.”
Aanya by SHRM is a one-of-a-kind leadership programme for women that examines leadership through a distinct viewpoint. The programme focuses on the distinct capabilities that women bring to leadership.
The programme was launched by Shri. K K Singh, Director Personnel, who challenged the first batch of “Aanya” participants to be change agents and role models for future female leaders in the organisation.

SHRM India has also conducted many rounds of pre-assessments in the leadership journey this month. Based on the findings, experiential training programmes were held in Ranchi’s picturesque Management Training Institute campus.
Ms. Daisy Hembrom welcomed the attendees and provided an overview of MTI and the Aanya programme.
Mr. Sanjay Dhar, CGM, MTI, emphasised the significance of Aanya as a pilot programme at SAIL and noted that the organisation will add many such programmes aimed at women empowerment in the future.
The first phase of the programme was all about self-management, an inward-looking trip.
A special tour to the Maya Lab gave guests the ultimate experience in Virtual Reality, Haptics, and Augmented Reality. The lab’s goal is to scale up this technology and use it for training at multiple plants.
