RDC Concrete transforms school for underprivileged students through project PEUSC

RDC Concrete, India’s largest and premier independent ready-mix concrete company, is pleased to launch Project PEUSC (Promoting Education for Underprivileged School Children), its latest project.

This project attempts to promote education programmes for children from disadvantaged areas of society throughout India, with approximately 70 comparable schools involved. The project exemplifies RDC Concrete’s dedication to making a positive difference in the areas in which it operates. RDC Concrete intends to go above standard CSR initiatives by actively engaging its staff in the process and fostering real connections with school pupils.

RDC Concrete has completed the rehabilitation of Ganesh Vidyalaya, a semi-government school for poor pupils in Kharegaon, Kalwa, near Thane. The school had been plagued by insufficient infrastructure, which had resulted in a variety of health difficulties among the students. Recognising the need of a safe, sanitary, and positive learning environment, RDC Concrete stepped in to solve these concerns before the monsoon season.

The repair operations at Ganesh Vidyalaya were thorough and focused on major infrastructural needs. RDC Concrete erected a 1500-liter water tank to ensure a consistent supply of clean drinking water for the pupils. Furthermore, the installation of water purifiers improved the water quality even more, protecting the students’ health. These steps will be critical in minimising waterborne infections and guaranteeing water safety.

In addition to fixing the water-related issues, RDC Concrete rebuilt the old desks, which were in disrepair, and purchased new ones to provide students with comfortable seating. RDC Concrete aspires to establish a conducive learning atmosphere that encourages the growth and development of every child, ensuring they enjoy attending school by providing these basic facilities.

“The initiative showcases RDC Concrete’s efforts in supporting all sectors of the country’s growth fueled by better infrastructure and learning environment,” stated Mr Anil Banchhor, MD & CEO of RDC Concrete. The goal behind entering the educational sector is to assist poor sections and strata of pupils with the necessary amenities and engagement to learn and thrive. RDC Concrete hopes to play a transformational role in helping students establish a bright future for themselves and the country through its societal activities.”

Recognising the importance of active involvement with school pupils, RDC Concrete has taken their commitment a step further. The organisation has opted to add an Employee Engagement – CSR component into each employee’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This feature will encourage staff to visit the selected school, which is less than 5 kilometres from its plant premise, and spend quality time connecting with the pupils, sharing their knowledge, and encouraging young minds.
