‘Everyone is a programmer now’: Why NVIDIA CEO says AI has made everyone a coder

Huang’s statement comes as Nvidia maintains its position as the world’s most valuable publicly traded semiconductor business, with its processors and computer systems powering AI technology.

With Nvidia’s second-quarter sales expected to outperform Wall Street projections by more than 50%, the firm has been increasing supplies to satisfy rising demand for its AI processors. These chips are critical components for systems that rely on AI capabilities, such as ChatGPT and other similar services.

“There’s no doubt we’re living in a new computing era,” Huang said. “Every computing era enables us to achieve previously impossible feats, and artificial intelligence certainly fits that bill.” “The programming barrier is incredibly low,” he continued. Huang emphasised the exponential growth AI has achieved because to its user-friendly design, which makes it accessible to users from all industries. He declared that AI’s rapid rise will permeate every industry, significantly altering the way we function.

Nvidia’s AI chips have already been used to improve a variety of services. Microsoft Corp, for example, has used the chips to give its search engine, Bing, human-like chat functions. Huang demonstrated the powers of AI by displaying a programme that wrote a brief pop song praising Nvidia with simply minimum instructions.

Huang also announced numerous new uses, including a collaboration with WPP, the world’s largest advertising group, to generate generative AI-enabled content for digital advertising.

Despite Nvidia’s important position in the AI revolution, the company has experienced hurdles in meeting the increasing demand for its AI chips. Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who is rumoured to be launching an AI firm, recently compared obtaining Nvidia’s graphics processing units (GPUs) to buying illicit drugs, highlighting the difficulty in obtaining these crucial components.
