The L&T Integrated Community Development Programme was launched in fiscal year 2014-15 with the goal of increasing water availability. This project is active in the states of Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra.
The ICDP uses a methodical community organisation strategy that begins with a need assessment of the location. These include mobilising people, forming village development and monitoring committees, raising awareness about water conservation, constructing civil infrastructure to aid in water and soil conservation and ensuring its maintenance by the community, providing sanitation facilities with people’s labour contributions, and encouraging climate resilient and sustainable agricultural practises.
Education L&T’s education projects aim to promote social upliftment and inclusive development throughout the country. The organisation has taken a number of measures to provide infrastructure to schools that lack necessary resources and to improve the quality of learning for pupils.
