JSP Foundation Inaugurates State-of-the-Art Sports Hostel to Foster Rural Sports Talent

JSP Foundation, the CSR arm of Jindal Steel & Power (JSP), launched the Jindal Sports Hostel in Soyabali, Keonjhar District, led by Chairman Naveen Jindal and Chairperson of JSP Foundation Shallu Jindal. This trailblazing effort aims to encourage rural sports abilities and give extraordinary residential facilities to 60 adolescents who have shown athletic ability as well as academic brilliance.

The Jindal Sports Hostel, developed by the JSP Foundation, is a key step towards developing young athletes from disadvantaged homes. Chairman Naveen Jindal emphasised sports’ tremendous impact on character development, discipline, teamwork, and the ability to overcome obstacles. “This sports hostel reflects our commitment to enabling young people to excel in sports and education.” It’s a location where they can get comprehensive sustenance, allowing them to learn, grow, and eventually become champions, role models, and leaders,” he said.

The Jindal Sports Hostel is equipped with cutting-edge amenities, which aligns with the Government of Odisha’s focus on sports infrastructure development. There are nice rooms, sophisticated sporting equipment, a fourth-generation gym, and a dedicated sports training centre staffed by professional coaches among the features. Furthermore, the Foundation will provide nutritional meals and physical fitness training to the pupils.

JSP Foundation

JSP Foundation has been an outspoken supporter and promoter of Wushu and Kickboxing, both forms of martial arts, among the youth of Keonjhar District. For more than a decade, the Foundation has funded the Keonjhar District Wushu Team in partnership with the Odisha State Wushu Association. It has supplied them with critical infrastructure, training facilities supervised by national-level coaches, and accommodations for food, nutrition, clothes, and transportation. Notably, the Foundation’s efforts have developed extraordinary talents such as Sweta Rani, Babulu, and Manju Munda, who have won Silver and Gold medals at International Wushu Tournaments held in Brazil, Brunei, and Moscow.

JSP remains committed to empowering kids and thinks that the Jindal Sports Hostel will serve as a springboard for these exceptional individuals to pursue success in sports, education, and beyond. JSP Foundation continues to help to the overall development of Keonjhar District’s aspiring sports stars by cultivating their abilities and providing them with full support.
