Infosys to purchase digital marketing firm Oddity

Digital marketing firm oddity – Infosys announced on Tuesday that it has inked a definitive agreement to buy digital marketing, experience, and commerce firm quirk, based in Germany, for up to 50 million euros. The acquisition would boost Infosys’ creative, branding, and experience design skills, according to the company. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of fiscal 2023, pending customary closing conditions. 
 
Infosys will purchase Kristall 247 at the same time to complete the acquisition. Kristall 247. GmbH, based in Cologne, Germany, was founded in 2021 but has no operations. Oddity will cost up to 50 million euros to acquire, including earn-outs, management incentives, and bonuses, whereas Kristall 247. will cost 3,000 euros. 
 
Oddity is one of Germany’s largest independent digital companies, with more than 300 digital experts based in Stuttgart, Berlin, Cologne, Belgrade, Shanghai, and Taipei, according to Infosys. 
 
Oddity has a broad service portfolio that includes digital-first brand management and communication, in-house production, including virtual and augmented reality, experience design, and e-commerce services spanning Europe and China, according to the company.

“Oddity will join WONGDOODY, an Infosys subsidiary, and join its network of studios in Seattle, Los Angeles, New York, Providence, Houston, and other cities as part of Infosys’ digital experience and design offering.” 
 
“With oddity’s expertise in digital commerce and marketing, as well as its metaverse-ready setup, it is the appropriate complement to Infosys’ technology transformation prowess,” said Infosys President Ravi Kumar S. 
 
“The future of more human-centered marketing lies in the confluence of creativity and technology,” oddities founders Frank Boegner, Marc Bürkle, Simon Umbreit, and Christian Gölz stated in a statement (data, automation, AI).
