Odisha train accident: ICICI Prudential Life Insurance relaxes claims settlement process for victims

ICICI Prudential Life Insurance has eased the claim settlement process for families affected by the Odisha train catastrophe and stands in solidarity with them. The Company would also expedite claim settlement to provide financial help to people affected by the tragedy.

The processing of death and health claims, including those covered by the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), will be based on just three basic papers.

Documents needed to pay claims include:

• bank account information

• a death certificate from local authorities.

If a death certificate is not available, a list of deceased passengers issued by hospitals, government officials, or the police may be used.

• A copy of the nominee’s current address proof

To assist with claim-related queries, the Company has established a dedicated 24X7 hotline number (1-860-266-7766).

“We express our condolences for the loss of life in the horrific train crash in Odisha,” stated Mr. Amish Banker, Senior Executive Vice President – Customer Service & Operations, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance. Our consumers can rely on us to be supportive and sensitive to their needs during this difficult time. As a result, we have simplified the claims settlement process, requiring the candidate to submit only three simple documents. Our specialised 24X7 helpline is able to answer all claims-related inquiries. Nominees can also phone our helpdesk to get all of their questions answered.”
