HMSI Conducts Road Safety Awareness Campaign in Udaipur, Rajasthan

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) launched its National Road Safety Awareness Campaign in Udaipur (Rajasthan) to emphasize the importance of developing a culture of safe riding behaviors in India. 

Honda places a premium on road safety around the world. HMSI educated around 2000 school children and staff members on safe riding techniques during a three-day camp at Central Public Senior Secondary School in Udaipur. HMSI’s road safety instructors used age-appropriate road safety learning packages to improve everyone’s retention of road safety awareness. 

Mr. Vinay Dhingra, Senior Director, HR, Administration, Information Technology, and Corporate Affairs, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, stated, “Road safety education is essential for developing a road safety mindset.” HMSI has been implementing a road safety awareness campaign around the country in order to generate more responsible road users. With this campaign, we hope to instill good road safety behaviors in new and aspiring riders, as well as assist them realize the necessity of driving safely.” 

HMSI National Road Safety Awareness campaign makes learning fun while still being scientific by: 

  1. SCIENTIFICALLY DESIGNED LEARNING MODULE: Honda’s professional teachers lay the groundwork with theory sessions on traffic signs and markings, driver responsibilities on the road, riding gear and posture explanation, and safe riding etiquettes. 
  1. PRACTICAL LEARNING: Prior to actual riding, all participants participated in a special training session on Honda’s virtual riding simulator, where they experienced over 100 potential road hazards.
  2. INTERACTIVE SESSION: Participants received hazard prediction training known as Kiken Yosoku Training (KYT), which improves rider/driver awareness to danger and assures safe driving behavior on the road. 
  3. EXISTING DRIVERS HONING RIDING SKILLS: Existing riders, including students and school employees, tested and refined their skills through slow riding activities and riding on narrow planks.
  4. LEARNING IN A interesting WAY: Honda also performed interesting educational activities such as road safety games and quizzes on a daily basis to ensure that the young kids learned more about road safety.
