ChatGPT app coming to Android devices next week: OpenAI

OpenAI, lead by CEO Sam Altman, made a highly anticipated announcement on Saturday, disclosing that its enormously popular AI chatbot, ChatGPT app, will soon be available for Android users. This Android version follows the successful introduction of the free iOS app, which extended the power of ChatGPT to iPhones.

The ChatGPT app for Android has been intended to provide an experience similar to that of its iOS counterpart. Notably, users may sync their chats and preferences across several devices, enabling a smooth and ongoing contact with the AI chatbot.

While OpenAI has not provided a specific date for the Android deployment, it is likely that the initial distribution would target users in the United States before moving to other nations across the world.

Those who want to get their hands on the ChatGPT app for Android can pre-register their interest. Users can receive a notification as soon as the app goes live by simply clicking the “pre-register” button on the Google Play Store.

“Welcome to ChatGPT for Android!” The app will be available to customers next week, and you can pre-order it now on the Google Play Store,” the company said in a tweet.

In addition, OpenAI is introducing “customized instructions” for ChatGPT. This feature allows users to provide the AI chatbot particular instructions and information, which will be saved for future talks. The personalized instructions feature is now in Beta and only available to Plus plan members, but the business intends to make it available to all users in the near future. It adds a personalized touch to ChatGPT conversations, improving the overall user experience.

OpenAI is also introducing “customized instructions” for ChatGPT. This feature allows users to send specific instructions and information to the AI chatbot, which will be saved for future conversations. The personalized instructions feature is now in Beta and available exclusively to Plus plan customers, but the company plans to make it available to all users in the near future. It enhances the overall user experience by adding a personalized touch to ChatGPT sessions.

With the latest release, the business also made substantial enhancements to the history search feature. This feature allows users to readily access previous chats and interactions with the chatbot, making it easier and more efficient to continue existing dialogues.
