SpiceJet, an Indian airline, announced a partnership with FTAI Aviation Ltd. for a CFM56 revitalization initiative on Thursday. Under the plan, the service provider will lease 20 engines to SpiceJet, including with maintenance services.
According to a press statement, the alliance gives SpiceJet access to a pipeline of high-quality engines while also lowering the airline’s maintenance expenses. It will also reduce aircraft downtime and considerably improve the airline’s performance.
The first batch of engines obtained through the arrangement will help the reactivation of SpiceJet’s aircraft fleet over the following 2-3 months. The batch will also be critical for services on the airlines’ new routes.
FTAI Aviation will manage the engines, giving SpiceJet enough space and time to focus on improving their offered travel experience and operations.
SpiceJet Chairman and Managing Director Ajay Singh expressed satisfaction with the new relationship, calling it a sign of progress towards the airline’s goals. He expressed tremendous confidence in the new partner, praising their experience in engine management and maintenance, which will allow SpiceJet to operate without stress.

“SpiceJet is slowly but steadily progressing towards its goal of restoring its fleet and ensuring that our aircraft remain where they rightfully belong, in the skies serving our passengers,” Singh said.
“Our collaboration with FTAI Aviation is a step forward in that direction, ensuring that our fleet is always operational without us having to worry about engines or their maintenance.” Quick and ready replacements will ensure that our planes fly.
SpiceJet hopes to advance low-cost travel and the aviation industry in India through the cooperation and the CFM56 revitalization effort.
