Reliance Retail to launch Tira app
Reliance Retail is preparing to launch Tira, an e-commerce beauty platform, as well as open new offline stores. A top official said on Monday that the first offline Tira store would open in Mumbai in April, and that its presence would be expanded across the country in both’shop-in-shop’ and standalone formats.
Tira will have sections for makeup, skincare, hair care, bathing, fragrances, men’s beauty, and luxury. Currently, the platform is only available to Reliance employees, but it will soon be available to the general public.
Reliance Retail Director Subramaniam V confirmed the news on the sidelines of an event hosted by industry chamber FICCI. “It will launch in April in Mumbai,” said an official when asked about Tira’s offline expansion.
Subramaniam V stated that Reliance Retail has enough stores to take the platform across India without specifying the exact number of stores. “Tira would be the premium brand, and we have yet to decide on the non-premium (brand),” he explained.

The high-end items would be sold in a specialised category called Tira Red.
According to Subramaniam V, Reliance Retail is one of the largest players in the beauty industry, already present in personal care, hair care, and the largest customer for Lakme. “Now, we’re bringing a special channel for beauty,” he explained.
Last year, Reliance Retail acquired a controlling stake in makeup and personal care brand Insight Cosmetics.
